The anise plant (Pimpinella anisum) is a flower bearing plant that belongs to the umbel family. Aniseed is the dried seed of this plant. It is used for flavouring of dishes, candy, liquors and tea. It can also have an antibacterial effect. In Europe, the Middle-East and in Indian cultures is anise seed chewed after meals to ease the digestion and refresh the breath. Anise seed improves a good digestion and metabolism. Anise seed can be well combined with i.e. allspice, cardamom, cinnamon, comin, marsh, pepper and star anise.
This product is produced in a facility that also processes nuts, peanuts, sesame, wheat and gluten.
