These smaller oat flakes are perfectly suited for making oatmeal. Combine the flakes with a milk of your own choice and cook it done in about 2 to 3 minutes, then let it rest for about 5 minutes. Oatmeal is a delicious, nutritious breakfast, especially with some fresh fruit or honey. Flakes are very rich of nutritional fibers and proteins, and contain also much thiamin (vitamin B1). The latter is especially important to ensure good functioning of the muscles and the nerve system. Flakes contain also several minerals, among which manganese, magnesium and phosphorus. In order to make the flakes, the moisture content of the grain is raised by means of steam. The grains are then flattened by flattening machines, where they come out as flat flakes. It is almost impossible to flatten the grains without steam, because this extra moisture makes sure that the grains are flattened instead of crumbled.
Our organic Sultana raisins are unsulphurized. They are thus pure nature, but a little darker of color than the gold-colored Sultana raisins that you sometimes see in the stores. Raisins contain relatively much potash, even more than bananas! Potash is of great importance to ensure good functioning of the heat and other muscles. Besides that, raisins are very rich of the mineral boron, that contributes to strong bones and a healthy endocrine system.
The dried apple is sweet of taste and without added sugars. Apple is also rich of nutritional fibers, that are important for healthy bowel movements.
Cinnamon is a source of antioxidants, it has an anti-inflammatory effect and works regulative on the blood sugar level.
