October is just around the corner, and that means it’s time for a fragrant and crunchy holiday treat: kruidnoten. These traditional spiced biscuits are a delicious treat associated with the Dutch feast of Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas). From today, our handcrafted, organic kruidnoten are back – fresh from the oven, irresistibly tasty, and of course 100% organic.
Crafted with care – sustainably made
Our kruidnoten – or pepernoten, as Sinterklaas sometimes calls them – are baked using our own traditional recipe. Their nostalgic flavour comes from a fragrant blend of organic spices, including:
- Cinnamon for a warm base
- Star anise for a hint of sweetness
- Clove for a deep, spicy note
- Coriander for a fresh twist
All spices are organically grown and, where possible, sourced from Dutch farms. This not only ensures an authentic taste, but also keeps our ecological footprint to a minimum. That’s what makes our kruidnoten not just delicious and artisanal, but also wonderfully sustainable.
