Penne is a form of pasta that exists of elongated tubes that are mostly cut off diagonally at an angle of 30 or 45 degrees. Normally, it is eaten warm with a tomato/meat sauce, but it can also be used for in a cold salade. Penne is the plural form of the Italian word penna, that has the meaning ''feather'' in Latin. Pasta has arisen independently in diverse cultures and is from there dispersed over the whole world. It is a dough product, made from hard grains, especially hard wheat, that can be diluted in diverse forms. The pasta is made of the whole grain kernels of durum wheat, that is also called selomina or grouch.
